Kids who ride balance bike generally ride pedal bikes independently at a younger age than those who use training wheels. It is not uncommon for balance bike riders to start riding a pedal bike at the age of three (mine started just after 2) verses 5 or 6 with training wheels (or even later!!). Start the child on the balance bike instead of using the pedal bike with trainer wheels allows the child to learn faster, give them better confidence by breaking up the learning curve to smaller, simpler and more manageable steps. Once they can walk reasonably well, simply give them a bike and let them ride. No running beside them, no holding their seat, no tears, simply give them the bike and watch in amazement as they ride off on their own. Best of all, you need not break your back. Only give them plenty of opportunities to ride, your best encouragement, and let them lift off both their legs as they zoom! Currently the balance bikes in the market are quite pricey. For a bike that only helps them transit to a more permanent bike, it is not necessary to buy an expensive bike. Our balance bikes are at a comparable weight of 3kg, similar to the ones in the market, so that the child may handle the bike easily. They are also much more durable and hardy than wood ones since they are made of aluminum. We aim to make balance bike more affordable so that every child should own one, as we believe it is one of the best toys mommy and daddy should invest in.
